It’s no secret that decorating can be stressful. You start out expecting to spend a few hours on a job and it can easily turn into days.
What many of us don’t know though, is the secret to great results and avoiding wasted hours is having the right tools for the job. We’ve all heard that a bad workman blames his tools, but it’s also true that the best decorators know exactly what they need, and how to use their tools and materials properly.
Typically, decorating really means re-decorating. Re-decorating is often the source of problems that turn the air blue. Stripping wallpaper back to uncover huge cracks in the wall, or maybe even finding it’s not so much a layer of wallpaper as forty, one on top of the other. Getting the job started quickly means you need to know how to deal with obstacles before they happen, and it’s almost always easy when you know how. Let’s be clear here, easy doesn’t mean effort free – you may well still need a good measure of elbow grease and time invested to get the great results you want.
This site is divided into sections, with the first designed to help you prepare to decorate (think paint stripping, wallpaper removal, poly filler and so on). Next is some helpful information about the type of goal you might be aiming for, and finally there’s some really neat equipment you can use to get a perfect finish that looks just as it did in your mind’s eye.
Have a good look around, there’s plenty to see and read about, and below you’ll find some of the more recent additions we’ve put on the site.
